Making gold in Warcraft really isn’t all that difficult to do. It usually involves a little bit of time and effort, but it’s a worthwhile thing to learn if you want to be a serious player. Every new player runs into some of the same issues, but especially, people want to know one thing.

How much should I charge for my items in the Auction House?

The answer to this really isn’t as complicated as it sounds. There are a couple of different ways to get some good pricing information. We’re going to discuss three possible sources in this series to get you earning money as soon as possible. In Part 1, we’ll discuss using the Auction house to price your auction items.

Using the auction house is the easiest and fastest way to find out how much people are asking for their products right now. All you have to do is go to the auction house and click on the search bar. After that open up the bag that holds the item you want to find a price for. Hold CTRL while you click on the item, and you’ll see it appear exactly in the search bar. Cool, huh? Hit enter to start your search. If you don’t get any results, don’t worry, there are plenty of other ways to find pricing. You can also try searching for items of similar level and ability, and price your item as closely as you want. The real key here is testing. See how much you can get for your item. I always try to estimate on the high side to make as much as possible.

So next time you have an item to sell and you don’t know how much you should put the starting or buyout price, see if there are any items already in the auction house that meet your criteria. It’s a great place to look!
