warcraft 3 patch error registry

how to update frozen throne? i know i need to re-install it but i dont have any cd because ….?

beacause i transfer this game to my comp using a USB is there any way to update my frozen throne?

Its telling you that because the game insn’t installed(Just moved there from USB) there is no registry key telling the updater where your game is.

Click Start > Run > Type in “Regedit” eithout quotes. > Now open the file “HKEY_Current_User”

Open Software folder If you have a folder called Blizzard Enterainment go to Part B

Part A:-
Right click Software Folder and click “New > New Key” A new file should pop up Rename that Blizzard Entertainment. Now Right click that folder and Click “New > New Key” Now you should have a folder within that folder. Nmae it “WarcraftIII” Now click that folder and on the right hand side you should see a key (AB on a notpad is the icon) Called Default. Rename it “InstallPath” and the double click it change the value data to your install Path.
E.g C:Program FilesWarcraftIII
Now try to complete the update again

Part B:- DONT DO THIS IF YOU DID PART A
You already have a Blizzard Entertainment Folder. Open it up (Click the +) If there is a folder called Warcraft 3 go to Part C. If not right click Blizzard Entertanment Folder and Click “New > New Key” Rename the new folder “WarcraftIII” and then click the folder and on the right you should see a key (ab on a notepad is the icon) names Default. Rename that to “InstallPath” Then double click it and change the value to your install path

Part C:- DONT DO THIS IF YOU DID ANY OTHER PARTS
Ok you have a warcraftIII File click it. Click the File to Select it.
Now on the right where all the keys are (ab on a notepad icon) rightclick now White space and “Click New > String Value” A Key Should Appear. Rename it to “InstallPath” And then double Click it. Now change the Value to the install Path to your install path.
E.g C:Program FilesWarcraftIII

There you should be done now.
These instructions were checked on XP. Vista Or other Operating Systems might be slightly Different

WARNING:- The Registry is a Vital part of your PC. And Regedit is a Powerful tool. If you dont know what your’ew doing touch nothing else other that what i said. DONT Delete anything, you could break Programs or even break Windows. If you’re not a pro suggest you get in do the work and close it down before you hurt anything
